More on the Way Back Weekend


18th Annual Spring Festival
Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 10 am until 3 pm
 It's time for our Annual Spring Festival when the entire Farm is in full operation. 
Just to name a few of our artisans that will be here:  blacksmith, glass blower, pottery makers, woodworkers, printer, jewelry maker, furniture maker, broom maker and stone and timber shaping.
 
Special displays of:  Copper wire Bible displays; gun collection, banjos and dulcimers and cooper/wainwright in Heritage Hall on the second floor.
 
Museum Buildings open:  Progress, Transportation, Heritage Museum, Industry/coal mine, Country Store, Children's Hands-on, One room school house, Applebutter Inn, Corn grist mill (take home some ground cornmeal), saw and shingle mill and our Frontier Cabin. There will be people in 1800's attire and Mountain Men.
 
Special performance by Marshall University Drum & Fife Corp.  At 1 pm in our Log Church there will be a concert by the Wayne Elementary Honor Choir.  Mike Webb will be playing on the porch of the Applebutter Inn all day.
 
There will be sheep shearing, face painting, petting zoo, wagon rides (weather permitting).
 
Concessions will include:  Hot dogs, BBQ, beans and cornbread, ice cream, popcorn, chips, peach cobbler and drinks.  See fresh kettle corn being made.
 
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children age 2 thru 12.

Children's Art Festival and Way Back Weekend

On Saturday, April 26th there will be an art festival at Heritage Station. It is open from 11-2.
Next weekend, May 3rd. Heritage Farm will have their Way Back Weekend. If students go and write about what they learned while there, they will earn an extra 15 points in Social Studies for this nine weeks. The cost is 5.00 for students.
